These records describe the later lives of survivors of the Bell Route. Some sources describe their experience on the Trail of Tears,  their settlement in the Cherokee Nation west, and prolonged conflict due to their Treaty Party affiliation. 1842 Claims list the new places of residence for Bell Detachment members in the Cherokee Nation west. 1846 Claims are for Treaty Party members who lost property after Removal and sometimes fled the Cherokee Nation. Conflict documents include letters and other sources about John A. Bell's post-Removal leadership of the Treaty Party and related political conflict.
